Boys and Girls

BOYS, BOYS, BOYS!!

Last week, we got a visit from some Ohio friends. Amy and Jeremy stopped by for dinner with their three sons - Tyler is 4, Liam will be 2 in September, and little Reid is only 3 weeks old! They were on their way to visit their grandparents and we were very happy that they made a pit stop at our house.

I was a little nervous about having THREE BOYS here, but they were lots of fun and didn't seem to mind my girly-ness!

Will I get boy cooties if I touch you, Liam?!

Liam and I are only two months apart in age, so we got along great. We hung out together for most of the evening.

Here we are enjoying some bubbles and band-aid removal.

Here is the youngest boy of the bunch. Reid is SO little - I loved rocking his car seat, even if Mommy was worried that I was rocking it too hard!

Daddy held Reid for a long time - he said it reminded him of when he held me when I was that little!

GIRLS, GIRLS, GIRLS!!

After an evening of football, soccer and running around the backyard, I was ready for some good old fashioned girl R and R.
Yesterday we went to Ally and Noelle's house. I had my 2 year photo shoot with Jessi in the morning, then it was off to lunch with the girls (oh, and Sean and Daddy, too!). We all took a quick nap, then put on our stylish bathing suits and out to the pool we went!

We felt like we were at a resort - the water was the perfect temperature, we had a tent over our heads to block the sun and Sean provided more toys than we could play with!

Tug of War, toddler style.
This is my kind of room - nothing but pink and princess as far as the eye can see!

Of course we had a 'girls' only' dance party in the kitchen!

The boys weren't too happy with the girls when we decided to use their corn hole board as a dance floor.

I felt like so privileged when Jessi let me eat at the 'big girl' table with Ally for dinner. I was so excited that I ate two huge helpings of pasta and a bowl of apple sauce. I had to eat like a big girl at the big girl table!

Thanks so much to Sean and Jessi for letting us visit for the day and for taking my photos. I had a wonderful day with my girlfriends Ally and Noelle!

Oh, back to the boys - last week, Lindsey and Rich's little boy made a bit of an early arrival. Cole was not due until later next month, but he decided he wanted to come out and meet his cousin, Canton, who was born a few weeks ago. Cole weighed 5 pounds, but is doing just fine. I can't wait to meet these two new boys! Congratulations, Lindsey and Rich!!

Reduce, Reuse, Recycle

Even though I am only a toddler, I am very concerned about our environment. I want the earth to be clean and green when I am grow up.

When Mommy tried to throw away an empty diaper box yesterday, I pleaded with her to let me find another use for it. Why let it take up space in a landfill when it had the potential to do so many other jobs?

As she usually does, Mommy granted my wish and let me have the box. I spent the whole day coming up with new uses for it.

Use #1: Toy box

Emmet is always leaving his toys all over the floor - why not use the Pampers box as a place to store them?

Use #2: Bed

Why should Mommy have to take me upstairs for my nap when I can curl up and get some sleep right here in the living room?

Use #3: Thought box

Everyone needs a quite place of her own to contemplate the meaning of life.

Use #4: The best Peek a Boo spot ever

Look closely - you'll see my left eye, nose and cute little mouth just waiting to pop up and yell "Peek Boo!" (Yes, I say "Peek Boo" - I'm too excited to waste time with the "a")

Use #5: Shoe storage

After stomping around the house in her shoes, Mommy will appreciate that I have a safe place to store her favorite heels.

Use #6: Club house

Every club needs a club house. The box is ideal for the Pug Leaders of America meetings.

Use #7: Dance floor

The final use I came up with for the diaper box should come as no surprise. It makes an absolutley fantastic dance floor. Check out these two dances - in the second dance, I am wearing Mommy's favorite heels. You'll hear them!

My Heart Belongs to Daddy

Everyday is Father's Day at my house.

I have the best daddy in the world.

My daddy can make me laugh more than anyone in the world.

My daddy is the smartest and most talented daddy in the world - he teaches me SO much everyday (like how cars and tractors work, how you play football, baseball and soccer, how to go around corners really fast in a car...)

My daddy reads to me because he knows how much I love books, even though I know that he doesn't like to read.

My daddy is a better dancer than Apolo Anton Ohno and Mario Lopez combined. He teaches me how to shake my hiney on the dance floor like a pro.

It's a good thing I wear a diaper - my daddy make me laugh so hard when he throws me into the air that I wet my pants!

There isn't anything my daddy can't do - including fixing the crazy landscaping that the old owner's left behind at our house. He even lets me help.

Can you tell that I love my daddy very much? I am proud to say that I am a daddy's girl and that my heart belongs to Daddy. Happy Father's Day to my daddy and all the daddys of the world!

It's not just Father's Day weekend - it also the birthday weekend of two of my favorite people.

Auntie Tara has a birthday on Saturday, June 16. Happy Birthday, Auntie T - I'm working REALLY hard on saying your name!

Aunt Jill's birthday is Sunday, June 17. I know you just got back from your honeymoon, but I hope Uncle Emar did something special to celebrate your big day!!

Table For One, Please

This is what happens when Mommy leaves me alone in the kitchen for 30 seconds: This is the face that I give Mommy when she won't help me down as punishment for 'using the kitchen table as a jungle gym:'

From the "not much is going on this week" file:

This video is quite short, but if you like the song "Rehab" by Amy Winehouse, you'll enjoy it. Mommy and I love this song, and I always sing the "no, no, no" part of the chorus. I don't quite have the timing right in this video, but this is the only shot Mommy has been able to get of me singing back-up.

Mommy also wants to add that she did not teach me this song - I learned it all on my own from the hundred times that Mommy has had this song blaring in the car.

Posh Potty Designs by Charlotte

A few weeks ago, Mommy bought me an Elmo potty ring that goes right on top of the grown-up potty.

I tried sitting on it the day she brought it home. I screamed and cried. I haven't been on it since.

On Saturday, Mommy bought me my own private potty that is much more my size. When I sit on this potty, my cute little legs aren't dangling in the air, making me feel as though I'm hanging from a tall tree branch, hiney exposed.

Even though I was terrified of the Elmo potty ring, I do like the looks of it. Before I sat on my own private potty, I thought I'd try to customize it by placing the Elmo ring on it.

Trading Spaces would have been proud of me for trying to make the potty reflect my personal style with the Elmo ring, but unfortunately the ring didn't fit.

I'm not feeling the Feng-shui in here. I think I need to relocate the potty to another area of the house.

The upstairs hallway feels right. I'll just put the potty here.

Let's see how this fits.

Feet firmly on the floor, handles on the sides - my hiney is comfy and cushioned!!

Next step - taking off the diaper and actually using it as a potty! We'll keep you posted...

Potty talk aside, Mommy says that this is the Summer of Babies! Not only did her cousin Ted and his wife Ellen welcome Kyle recently, but Auntie Sue and Uncle Derrick are settling in at home with little Steven.
In the past week, we received even MORE baby annoucements. This time, they were additions to Team Pink!
Penn State friends Brent and Kathy welcomed Ashley Anne to the world on May 29. Then ANOTHER baby Nittany Lion was born on June 9th - Matt and Ami welcomed their first baby, Sarah Elaine, after THIRTY EIGHT hours of labor!!
We are SO excited about all these new babies. I can't wait to meet them all and show them the ropes.
Up next: Kent and Cindy's baby boy and Lindsey and Rich's baby boy, both due in the next few weeks!

**A few hours after Mommy wrote this, she got an email announcing the arrival of Kent and Cindy's son, Canton! He was born this morning and weighed 7 pounds, 5 ounces. Welcome to the world, Canton!

Finish the treatment with a pigtail up-do and prepare for the compliments!!

It's time to treat yourself to a day of toddler luxury. Put down those bubbles and call today for your appointment!!

Welcome, T-Bird!!

Well, it was bound to happen. A boy has infiltrated the Pink Ladies!!

Steven Everald was born to Auntie Sue and Uncle Derrick today and weighed 8 pounds, 2 ounces. Auntie Sue said the labor was quite quick. Mommy got to visit the happy family and said that Auntie Sue looked amazing and that little Steven is very handsome. I didn't get to meet him yet, but I hope I will soon. Erin, Riley, Grace, Genna and I have to initiate Steven into the Pink Ladies as the honorary T-Bird!!

Here are Auntie Sue, Big Sis Genna, and little Steven sharing a moment. Aren't they all adorable?? I can't wait to meet you, Steven!!! Prepare yourself for the Pink Ladies - we're quite the group!!!

Back Seat Driver

Last week Drew invited me over to take a ride in his new wagon. He said I was the first person he ever took on a wagon ride - he prefers to roll solo.

After my trip, though, Drew probably won't be too quick to allow anyone else share his sweet ride. I immediately took charge and pointed to the direction I wanted Aunt Amy to go.

Fine, Drew, we can stop to watch the garbage truck. I'm not happy about it, but we'll stop.
You're loving my hat, aren't you, Drew? I always ride in style.

Thanks for the lift, Aunt Amy. And thanks for not getting upset with me when I yelled "Go!" everytime you stopped the wagon! :)
Drew loved my take-charge back seat driving style. He showed his admiration with numerous hugs.

Drew and I didn't just take a wagon ride. He shared his cool outdoor toys with me, too.

So this is a tool bench? Where are the girl tools? I don't see any nail files, hair brushes or lipgloss.

First a tool bench, now a lawn mower. Mommy, quick - let's go paint my toe nails!!
