Got Candy?

Last weekend Gramma Betsy brought me this cool bat to hold my Halloween candy, and I've been carrying it around ever since. Mommy tried to tell me that Trick or Treat night isn't for over a month. Since I don't know what a month is, I'm going to carry the basket around all the time just in case someone has candy they want to donate to my bat.

Is it Trick or Treat night, yet? It's getting dark - shouldn't we leave now before the other kids pick out all the good stuff first?

Is there any candy over there? Go on. Look for me. I'll wait here in case some loot magically appears at the bottom of the stairs.

People are always giving treats to dogs. Maybe if I do my best pug impression they'll throw me one.

Let me check again. Yep. Still empty.

Who knew that a month would seem like such a long time?! It's tiring looking for candy. Maybe when I wake up it will be Halloween.

Target Practice

Who needs a college fund? Drew and I would rather spend that money at Target!

Come Out, Come Out Wherever You Are

Penn State - 6
Poisonous Nuts - 28

Charlotte's Message to the End Zone:
My Nittany Lions had a really hard time finding you yesterday. Why were you hiding from them and not letting them in? That wasn't very nice of you.

I've been practicing my "Touchdown Penn State!" signal all week, only to be denied showing it off because of your selfishness, End Zone. Look at what a cute display you missed:

Mommy and Daddy didn't get to witness your silly hiding game, End Zone. They were at their friend Susie's wedding. While Gramma Betsy, Great Aunt Barb and I watched the crazy nuts avenge last year's loss, Mommy and Daddy had a great time with their Penn State friends at a BEAUTIFUL wedding.

Charlotte's Shout Outs - Week 4

1. Jeremy Kapinos - Unlike the other part of our kicking game, you showed great skill with your powerful punts. Six punts for 303 yards, including one for 68 yards! We're usually not happy to see you trotting out onto the field, but at least when you do have to go out, you make the most of it!

2. Tony Hunt - You just keep running like Trixie trying to get away from Emmet. You're fast, you make quick, tricky moves, and you leave the enemy in your dust. Keep picturing Emmet behind you and you'll do just fine!

3. Justin King - I proudly wore your jersey number. You proved that Ted Ginn is human and can be beaten.

4. JoePa - You stayed on the sideline for most of the game even though you were sick. I didn't feel well last week, either. Just watch lots of Noggin, take plenty of naps and ask your Mommy for the grape flavored Tylenol. You'll feel better in about four days.

5. Scott - Mommy and Daddy's friend from Columbus braved the rain to attend the game. Scott sent text messages to Daddy whenever there was a score. Everyone at the wedding depended on those updates all afternoon. Even though you're from the enemy side, you get a shout out for providing such great coverage!! Thanks, Scott :)

Million Dollar Question

Mommy said she'd give a million dollars to the person who can explain to her why I've been walking around with a can of dog food all day.

You Spin Me Right Round

What's going on here, Mommy? Why am I sitting backward in my seat?

What?! You're serious?! I've been sitting backward my whole life? This is actually forward? Interesting.

The back of the passenger seat is lovely. Did you design it, Daddy?

This is really cool! Now I can see where we're going, not where we've been!

Look, Oso! Now we can help navigate. Daddy says that Mommy needs all the help she can get.

OK, enough photos. Can we actually leave the driveway now so I can see what I've been missing?

Not So Rosey Roseola

After a Saturday doctor visit and four days of feeling crummy, I am FINALLY back to my happy Charlotte self!!

It turns out I have roseola.
Roseola (also known as sixth disease, exanthem subitum, and roseola infantum) is a viral illness in young children, most commonly affecting those between the ages of 6 months and 2 years. It is typically marked by several days of high fever, followed by a distinctive rash just as the fever breaks. (Thanks for the definition kidshealth.org)

Good thing bikini season is over!

Hey, Em! I'm tired of looking out this window wishing I could play in the yard. My fever is gone - let's go!

Aaaaaah. Fresh air feels sooooooo good!!!!

Don't cut the grass, Daddy. It's more fun to sit in when it's long!

Even though I was sick, I managed to watch some of the 37-3 trouncing of Youngstown State by my beloved Nittany Lions. Cousin Drew borrowed my PSU pillow for a photo shoot, so I used Daddy as my pillow instead!

Charlotte's Shout Outs - Week 3

1. Nittany Lion Offense - After a slow start, you racked up 568 total yards. Wow!!

2. Tony Hunt - Is this the beginning of a Larry Johnson-type season? 145 yards and a touchdown. Let's see that again versus the dirty poisonous nuts next week.

3. A.J. Wallace - I temporarily forgot about my fever when you ran that reverse from Hunt for a 76 yard touchdown. High five (imagine my tiny hand slapping yours)

4. Coaching staff - Whoever decided to take out Ganter as the kick holder deserves a Shout Out. Even though Kelly didn't have the best day, at least now he doesn't have to worry about the ball getting into position!

Practice hard this week, boys. Next week is THE game.

GO STATE!! BEAT THE BUCKEYES!!

Sick Day

Yuck, yuck, yuck. I've had a fever since Wednesday night and have felt crummy for two whole days.

To help make me feel better, Mommy and I have been cuddling on the couch watching Noggin, surfing the internet, and snacking on Goldfish.

Since I have all of this down time, I think I'll email JoePa and ask what happened last week at the Notre Dame game. I'm sick just thinking about the loss - maybe that's why I got this fever.

Reading the Good Night Maine book from Auntie Tara helps me forget that I don't feel well.

OK, I've spent enough time updating my blog. Time to go to bed and get some rest. Night, night!

Pillow Party

Q: What's green, square and has two legs?

A: The Pillow Peekaboo Princess!

Come over to my house and I'll show you how to play Pillow Peekaboo. It's my favorite new game!

Do you think Mommy can see me?

The Pugodile Hunter

A Charlotte Tribute to 'Crocodile Hunter' Steve Irwin 1962-2006

Note: Text to be read with an enthusiastic Australian accent :)

G'day, mate! It's pug saving time. Be sure to have all the right pug hunting equipment - that includes this here wrangling leash.

Make sure you have eye protection. These blokes have sharp claws!

Approach them very slowly, preferably when they are tired and out of breath.

Whew! That was a close one!! We wrangled this one, no problem!

Show no fear when you're trying to tag one, mate.

Pugs are misunderstood and need to be protected. It may look like I'm wrestling them, but I'm trying to rescue them and educate the public about them.

Crikey!! We got a live one here!!

Rest in Peace, Crocodile Hunter. I hope there are lots of crocs for you to hunt in heaven!

The Curse of the Irish

Penn State - 17
Notre Dame - 41

This photo of me is quite blurry, but it sums up today's game very well.

Let us out, let us out - we can't bear to watch anymore!!

Charlotte's Shout Outs - Week 2

1. Sean, Jessi, Ally, Noelle and Bailey: Thanks for having us over to your house today. While the game wasn't fun, at least we got to cry with good friends about the outcome. And Daddy says you can't make any more of that yummy bread, Jessi. He feels fat now! Bailey - thanks for being such a comfy pillow!

2. Poz and Connor: You both had 12 tackles - good job! Next time try not to let the other team have the ball for so long - you guys started to get tired. Get some rest this week!

3. Amy, Big Jim, Avery and Evan: You made the long trip out to South Bend to see this game. Despite the outcome, I hope you guys had fun!!

Hmmmmmmm. Shout Outs for this game are tough.

A big Non Shout Out to Charlie Weiss for faking a punt and for going for it on fourth down late in the game when it was clear you had spanked us. Shame on you.

Head over to Sean's House of Divas for much better photos of our fun visit with Sean, Jessi, Ally and Noelle.

Better luck next week, Penn State. I still love you!
