Not So Rosey Roseola

After a Saturday doctor visit and four days of feeling crummy, I am FINALLY back to my happy Charlotte self!!

It turns out I have roseola.
Roseola (also known as sixth disease, exanthem subitum, and roseola infantum) is a viral illness in young children, most commonly affecting those between the ages of 6 months and 2 years. It is typically marked by several days of high fever, followed by a distinctive rash just as the fever breaks. (Thanks for the definition kidshealth.org)

Good thing bikini season is over!

Hey, Em! I'm tired of looking out this window wishing I could play in the yard. My fever is gone - let's go!

Aaaaaah. Fresh air feels sooooooo good!!!!

Don't cut the grass, Daddy. It's more fun to sit in when it's long!

Even though I was sick, I managed to watch some of the 37-3 trouncing of Youngstown State by my beloved Nittany Lions. Cousin Drew borrowed my PSU pillow for a photo shoot, so I used Daddy as my pillow instead!

Charlotte's Shout Outs - Week 3

1. Nittany Lion Offense - After a slow start, you racked up 568 total yards. Wow!!

2. Tony Hunt - Is this the beginning of a Larry Johnson-type season? 145 yards and a touchdown. Let's see that again versus the dirty poisonous nuts next week.

3. A.J. Wallace - I temporarily forgot about my fever when you ran that reverse from Hunt for a 76 yard touchdown. High five (imagine my tiny hand slapping yours)

4. Coaching staff - Whoever decided to take out Ganter as the kick holder deserves a Shout Out. Even though Kelly didn't have the best day, at least now he doesn't have to worry about the ball getting into position!

Practice hard this week, boys. Next week is THE game.

GO STATE!! BEAT THE BUCKEYES!!

Sick Day

Yuck, yuck, yuck. I've had a fever since Wednesday night and have felt crummy for two whole days.

To help make me feel better, Mommy and I have been cuddling on the couch watching Noggin, surfing the internet, and snacking on Goldfish.

Since I have all of this down time, I think I'll email JoePa and ask what happened last week at the Notre Dame game. I'm sick just thinking about the loss - maybe that's why I got this fever.

Reading the Good Night Maine book from Auntie Tara helps me forget that I don't feel well.

OK, I've spent enough time updating my blog. Time to go to bed and get some rest. Night, night!

Pillow Party

Q: What's green, square and has two legs?

A: The Pillow Peekaboo Princess!

Come over to my house and I'll show you how to play Pillow Peekaboo. It's my favorite new game!

Do you think Mommy can see me?

The Pugodile Hunter

A Charlotte Tribute to 'Crocodile Hunter' Steve Irwin 1962-2006

Note: Text to be read with an enthusiastic Australian accent :)

G'day, mate! It's pug saving time. Be sure to have all the right pug hunting equipment - that includes this here wrangling leash.

Make sure you have eye protection. These blokes have sharp claws!

Approach them very slowly, preferably when they are tired and out of breath.

Whew! That was a close one!! We wrangled this one, no problem!

Show no fear when you're trying to tag one, mate.

Pugs are misunderstood and need to be protected. It may look like I'm wrestling them, but I'm trying to rescue them and educate the public about them.

Crikey!! We got a live one here!!

Rest in Peace, Crocodile Hunter. I hope there are lots of crocs for you to hunt in heaven!

The Curse of the Irish

Penn State - 17
Notre Dame - 41

This photo of me is quite blurry, but it sums up today's game very well.

Let us out, let us out - we can't bear to watch anymore!!

Charlotte's Shout Outs - Week 2

1. Sean, Jessi, Ally, Noelle and Bailey: Thanks for having us over to your house today. While the game wasn't fun, at least we got to cry with good friends about the outcome. And Daddy says you can't make any more of that yummy bread, Jessi. He feels fat now! Bailey - thanks for being such a comfy pillow!

2. Poz and Connor: You both had 12 tackles - good job! Next time try not to let the other team have the ball for so long - you guys started to get tired. Get some rest this week!

3. Amy, Big Jim, Avery and Evan: You made the long trip out to South Bend to see this game. Despite the outcome, I hope you guys had fun!!

Hmmmmmmm. Shout Outs for this game are tough.

A big Non Shout Out to Charlie Weiss for faking a punt and for going for it on fourth down late in the game when it was clear you had spanked us. Shame on you.

Head over to Sean's House of Divas for much better photos of our fun visit with Sean, Jessi, Ally and Noelle.

Better luck next week, Penn State. I still love you!

Buon Appetito!

Whoever invented spaghetti should win an award. It is SOOO yummy!

I'm actually not too messy when I feed it to myself. I don't want to waste all that yummy sauce by smearing it all over my face!

I'm going to stare at this spoon full of carbs and admire its beauty for a minute before I slam it into my mouth.

Come closer. Let me give you a taste.

First Crush

Charlotte and Huggies Boy sitting in a tree...

Meet my new boyfriend, Huggies Boy. He's really cute, he works out and he looks great in a diaper.
Normally Mommy doesn't let me this close to the TV, but she knows that she goes running toward the TV, too, when McDreamy Patrick Dempsey is on "Grey's Anatomy." She understands my crush and lets me get as close as I want.

It doesn't matter where I am in the house - when I hear his deep, manly sounding voice I drop what I'm doing and get to the TV ASAP.

I wonder how old he is.

I wonder if he finds two teeth attractive.

I wonder if Daddy will let me go on a date yet.

I wonder if we could even coordinate a date around both of our naps...

Are You Ready for Some Football?!

Penn State - 34
Akron - 16

Mommy, Daddy and I watched our first Penn State football game together in Pennsylvania today. We didn't even have to pay to watch it on TV! I was in such anticipation of the game that I tired myself out and slept through the whole first half and half time, but I was wide awake and excited to watch the second half with my PSU pillow, football and Miss Nittany.

We were going to go to the game, but Ernesto had other plans for us. It was probably a good thing we didn't go - I didn't want a rain coat to cover up my cool Penn State t-shirt!

The first play that I see Penn State fumbles the ball on the second half kick-off. I'm so mad I could just strangle you, Miss Nittany!

I was ready with my "Touchdown Penn State!" clap. I didn't have to wait too long into the second half when my man Morelli threw a 20 yd touchdown pass to Derrick Williams. I clapped just like Mommy and I have been practicing.

So this is the object that all those big boys try to kill each other to get. Wow.

This game sure is long. And I even slept through the first half!

I think I'll just lay here and have sweet dreams of Paul Posluszny.

Here, Em. Take the hand-off. Now run!!

OK, Miss Nittany. The fumbled kick-off return didn't prevent us from winning the game. Give me a kiss. Sorry I tried to strangle you.

Charlotte's Shout Outs - Week One:

1. Morelli: Your first pass as a starter was a 42 yd touchdown bomb. Way to go!

2. Poz: 7 tackles - you looked great considering a silly Seminole ripped apart your knee in January.

3. Norwood, Williams and Butler: Can you teach Trixie and Emmet how to play catch? You guys are good.

4. JoePa's towel boy: Good job refreshing JoePa's towels every few minutes. We need to keep JoePa comfortable in weather like that - he's no spring chicken.

5. The male TV commentator: Have another drink and then take some English lessons. The shout-out is because you made Mommy and Daddy giggle a lot during the game.

6. Big Jim: You get the Non-Shout Out for falling asleep during the game. At least I started my nap before the game started. You conked out during the action. What kind of example is that to set for Avery, Evan and me?!?

Kissing Bandit

Come on, Trixie. Pucker up and give me a kiss with those pug lips.

Mommy just taught me how to kiss - can I practice on you?

You look a little uncomfortable, Trix. How 'bout we break the ice with a kiss?

Help me out, here, Trix. I want to show Mommy that I really will kiss anyone but her!

You're such a scaredy pug - afraid of a little bit of baby germs!
