Stay Tuned

Sorry for the delay, folks, but you'll have to wait a little longer until I have a chance to post photos of my rockin' Strawberry Shortcake birthday party. We've had a very busy month, but I promise I'll update in a week or so.

Until then...have a great week!!!

How to Make a BFF

Are you lonely?

Do you need a pal?

Desperate for a BFF (best feline friend)?

Sounds like you need a Patches! Follow these simple steps and you will soon have your own BFF to take with you everywhere!!

Take your time when faced with the giant wall of flat animals. Other species may appeal to you, but stick with the kitties. They will be the most loyal.

My advice is to choose the pinkest kitty. "Pink is my signature color!"

The next step is to fill your cat to the desired fluff density. I'm a bit of a hugger, so I pretended to be Daddy by putting the pedal to the metal and pumped up that kitty with lots of fluff!

You must choose the sound for your BFF. I chose the loud "meow" so that Mommy would know exactly when I'm in my crib playing instead of sleeping.

If you want your BFF to have a heart, you have to rub it against yours, then sew it into her chest. Sounds brutal, but it's actually quite a sweet moment!

Unless you want your kitten to bring home fleas or ticks, it's a good idea to give her a good bath.

If you don't want to be turned away by a "No shirt, no shoes, no service" sign when having a girls' lunch with your BFF, it's probably a good idea to pick a stylish outfit her. A pink outfit goes best with a pink kitty.

Your BFF will need a nice, simple name. Think of a real kitty that you know for inspiration.

My new kitty will now be known as Patches!!

Your new BFF is finally ready to take home! Well, almost. Since nothing in life is free, you will have to lay down some cash for this new friendship.

Once she is paid for, thank your benefactor (Aunt Sammi!!) and get ready for lots of fun times!!

Now go get your own BFF. Patches is mine!!!!

You might have to wait few days until my next post. We have a VERY busy weekend - Saturday is Mommy and Daddy's 5th wedding anniversary as well as MY PARTY!!! Sunday is my birthday. I'll be sure to post lots about all of those big events when we recover from the festivities.

I also want to say CONGRATULATIONS to Jess and Craig on the birth of their baby, Madelyn Josephine. She was born on Tuesday. I can't wait to teach her all about being a girl! Maybe pink will be her signature color, too!!

Back to School!!

Great news!!

In September, I'll be going back to St Paul's - the best school in the world! I am soooooo happy that I get to see my friends and my favorite teachers (like Janelle, in the photo) again!

Mommy is going to teach part time at the middle school in the district where was last year. Since her new school is still across the street from my school, and since my school had an opening, I get to be a student again! WOO HOO!!! I can't wait to be in the Teddy Bear classroom in the fall. Is it time to go school shopping yet, Mommy?

Charlotte's Strolls: Professional Dog Walking Service

Is your dog in desperate need of exercise, but you just can't find the time in your busy day to take her on a walk?

Don't worry about your overweight dog anymore. My size 7 shoes were made for walking!!

Walking your dog, that is.

For a small fee (two Fig Newtons, a scratch-n-sniff Strawberry Shortcake sticker and a bottle of pink nail polish), I will make sure you pooch gets the exercise she needs.

We will walk briskly so that your pup's heart rate stays high. We will only stop for the occasional dandelion...

...'lie down' command practice...

...and, of course, the need to relieve.

If your canine gets lazy and starts dragging behind, I will pick up the pace and begin a toddler trot.

After only a few walks with me, your dog will be in tip-top shape and will no longer struggle to keep up with the brisk pace.

With "Charlotte's Strolls", your dog will be safe at all times. I always look both ways before crossing the street and I never pull too hard.

Your dog will be returned home safely and in better shape than she ever was before.

As you can see from this video, I take great pride in my walks and enjoy my job thoroughly. If your dog needs a stroll, call "Charlotte's Strolls" today!!

Red, White and Beach

Happy 4th of July!!

My BFF Avery invited us to her Grammy's beach house for the holiday weekend. As always, we had a wonderful time with Avery, Evan, Amy, Big Jim and their families.

While we had fun, the weather was not the best. Since Avery and I always have a blast together, it didn't matter to us that the sky was gray.

If you are ever faced with a weekend at the beach on the 4th of July and the forecast isn't perfect, here are some ways to entertain yourself!

Don't let the weather dissuade you from marching in the Independence Day parade. Try to use waterproof decorations on your wagon. Don't skimp here - fill the wagon with as many festive items as you can. This will keep your mind off of the fact that you can't go swimming in the ocean.

No sunscreen application needed for a rainy day!! Just jump in the wagon and let your driver guide you through the town!

Be proud when everyone looks at your wagon. You worked hard on it - show it off!!

Oh, and don't forget to have your pug escort walk behind you. She will let you know if it starts to rain by snorting a sigh of relief from the heat.

When the parade ends, celebrate the fact that the sky didn't open up by enjoying a red, white and blue popsicle.

Popsicles are always better when shared with your BFF and future husband!

If you're worried about your hair getting wet in the rain, wear a crazy helmet with star ears.

Refrain from following the cute duckie into the water. The water will be cold on a day like today.

While you're waiting for the Independence Day BBQ, stay dry by playing with a scooter on a roofed porch.

Entertain everyone by showing off your new found hula hoop skills.

Hitch a ride around the huge porch with your BFF.

Stay up late and enjoy the fireworks with your family and friends. Don't forget to cover your ears so that they aren't too loud.

When it's time to go back to Grammy's house, smile and be happy about the fact that you didn't let the rain rain on your parade!!

Wake up refreshed the next morning because you slept in your brand new princess bed!! Having fun on a gray day at the beach can be exhausting!!!

Be nice and share your princess bed with your friends!

Lastly, make your daddy proud by not allowing your future husband into the princess bed with you.

Thanks again to Avery, Evan, Big Jim, Amy, Grammy, Grampy, Nana Pam and Kieran for a super fun 4th of July!!

Where's the Ipod?

Um, Drew? What is this silly red circle, why is it spinning, and why is there music coming out of this box?

Let's get a closer look.

This still looks foreign to me.

Let's look even more closely.

Wow!! This must be some sort of music box!!

I've never seen anything like it before - it's a magical spinning circle with music. I like it!

As much as I love to dance, I just couldn't stay away from the magic music box. I had to keep going back for further inspection.

All that investigating and dancing was exhausting. It's time to rest with my fellow Super Sleuth.

Rest In Peace, Kakia

Mommy said that today is a very sad day. She found out that Kakia, a beloved pug, passed away on Tuesday. I only got to meet Kakia one time, but Mommy said that she was a very special pug.

For those of you who don't know, Mommy and Daddy moved to Ohio a long time ago. When they first arrived, they met Deidre. Daddy used to play ultimate frisbee with Deidre every week. Mommy would go to watch Daddy play and to cheer him on, but soon spent more time playing with Kakia on the sidelines than watching Daddy. Mommy thought Kakia was the cutest, coolest dog ever and convinced Daddy that she needed a pug, too.

A few weeks later, Trixie joined their family. Trixie and Kakia were BFFs immediately. Trixie wanted to be just like Kakia.

A year later, Trixie and Kakia were dognapped from their cars one evening after a game of ultimate frisbee. Mommy, Daddy and Deidre were heartbroken. They did everything they could to get Trix and Kakia back, including speaking with the dognappers on the phone and agreeing to pay ransom. The dognappers never showed up. To make a LOOONG story short, Kakia and Trixie were later found trotting around OSU campus together. To this day, Mommy says that sheltered, prissy Trixie would never have survived that adventure without tough, street wise Kakia to keep her safe.

Kakia started the "Kakia Pug Legacy." Mommy fell in love with Kakia and decided that she had to get her own pug - enter Trixie. Then Nana and Joepa decided they needed to get pugs, so Mimi and Wolfie joined their family (Deidre and Kakia helped pick out Mimi!!) Then our friends Amy and Big Jimrealized that they had to have pugs, too, so Riley and Ollie joined their family. My Aunt Jill and Uncle Emar loved pugs so much that they added Vegas and Jack to their house. After all that, Mommy knew that she had to have two pugs, too, and before you knew it Emmet joined the legacy. Deidre and Jenn also recently added another pug to their brood. Without Kakia, none of these wonderful dogs would be in our extended family.

We are so sorry for your loss, Deidre. We just know that Kakia is now running free in heaven, watching over her legacies and her family, smiling her wide pug grin!
