Emmet Otter's Big Day!!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY, EMMET!!! Today you turn four years old, but Mommy and Daddy say that you act like you are still a puppy! I don't care how old you act, I just know that you are my best pug buddy and I love you very much. I love playing tug of war with you, letting you chase me in the yard, covering you with my ninney and helping feed you dinner. Lots of pug hugs to you today!!!

Since both Trixie and Emmet have May birthdays, we always take them out for a birthday custard to celebrate when it finally gets warm. We found a cute new ice cream place near my school and decided this would be the new 'birthday place.'

I love helping Emmet and Trixie celebrate!!

Hey Trixie - you have a little something there on your pug mug!

Going...

Going...

Gone!!

Which is harder to believe?

--Emmet turning four years old.

--Charlotte eating an entire ice cream cone on her own and not getting a SPECK of ice cream on her outfit.

One Hundred Forty Seven Years Young!!

Happy Birthday, Patches!!

I was SO excited that I was able to visit Auntie Tara at her Mommy and Daddy's zoo..., er, I mean house last weekend. Auntie Tara told me that one of her kitty cats, Patches, just turned 21 years old (we think she's only on her 6th life!!!) Mommy was friends with Auntie Tara when her family adopted Patches. Mommy and Auntie Tara even helped deliver Patches' litter of kittens almost 20 years ago! (Don't ask Mommy, Auntie Tara or Ryan about that, it was quite traumatic for them).

Everytime I visit Auntie Tara's house, I immediately run to Patches' bed and play with her. I use my really loud, high pitched voice to make sure she hears me! I am very good about being gentle with her - she is 147 years old after all!!

Someone take Patches out for her first drink!! Happy Birthday, kitty!

After celebrating with Patches, I went out back to play with the horses. Mommy says they are doggies, but I know better. These doggies sure don't look like Emmet or Trixie!! I loved throwing their kong toy and yelling, "Go get it, boys!!!"

Dixie is my favorite. She is bigger than Barney the Dinosaur, but she is very sweet and gentle...except when she sits on Mommy's foot making it impossible for Mommy to move! Next time I visit I'm bringing a saddle!

OK, enough playtime with the horses, it's time to play with more kitties...

Donna Moss (aka Auntie Tara)

Two weeks ago, Mommy and Daddy traveled down to Richmond, VA to watch my Auntie Tara graduate with a B.S. in Political Science from Virginia Commonwealth University. I was too little to go to the ceremony, but Mommy and Daddy had a great time visiting Richmond and celebrating Auntie Tara's achievement. Mommy says that I would have loved Cary Town and all the cute little shops.
She said my favorite would have been the cute little ice cream shop they visited. Mommy got a cone in my honor!
Not only did Auntie Tara graduate, but she also just accepted a fellowship with Barack Obama's campaign!!! Even though Mommy likes Hillary better, she is still very happy for Auntie Tara. Move over, Donna Moss! Make way for Auntie Tara in the West Wing!!
I am so proud of you, Auntie Tara! I hope I can be as smart as you when I grow up! I love you!

Where's Charlotte?

Sorry for the delay, folks! My web had to take a bit of a vacation - Mommy, Daddy and I have been very busy with graduation, Memorial Day and end of school activities. I've been on the go quite a bit lately, so in the next day or two I'll try to catch up on everything that's been happening.

I have to run - another social duty calls. Stay tuned!!!!

PS - Sorry for the dark pics. Mommy got a new camera for Mother's Day, so the next photos will be much better :)

"K" Is The New "P"

If you keep up with the latest toddler trends, you're probably aware that "3" is the new "2". Three year olds are now getting a reputation for being harder to handle than two year olds.

Did you know, though, that "K" is the new "P"? If you didn't, it's because I just declared it to be. Here is my declaration:

Mommy's Day and Trixie's Day

HAPPY, HAPPY MOMMIES DAY!!!!!!!

What's the best way to wish your Mommy a Happy Mommies Day?!? Give her kisses all day long and tell her "Happy Mother's Day" approximately every three minutes! That's what I did, and Mommy seemed really happy!!! Oh, and I also made her a beautiful picture frame with a photo of me that Daddy says makes me look so grown up. I also decorated a little flower pot with lots of pretty purple paint.

Mommy got the following from a mommy friend of hers. If you are familiar with the "If You Give a Mouse a Cookie" and "If You Give a Moose a Muffin" book series, then you'll appreciate this.

IF YOU GIVE A MOM A MUFFIN

If you give a mom a muffin, She’ll want a cup of coffee to go with it.
She’ll pour herself some. The coffee will get spilled by her three year old.
She’ll wipe it up. Wiping the floor, she will find some dirty socks.
She’ll remember she has to do some laundry. When she puts the laundry in the washer, she will trip over some snow boots and bump into the freezer.
Bumping in to the freezer will remind her that she has to plan for supper tonight. She will get out a pound of hamburger.
She’ll look for her cookbook. The cookbook will be sitting on a pile of mail.
She will see the phone bill, which is due tomorrow. She will look for her checkbook.
The checkbook in her purse, which is being dumped out by her 2 year old. She’ll smell something funny.
She’ll change her 2 year old. While she is changing her 2 year old, the phone will ring. Her five year old will answer it and hang up.
She remembers she wants to phone a friend to come over for coffee on Friday. Thinking of coffee will remind her that she was going to have a cup.
She will pour herself some. And chances are if she has a cup of coffee her kids will have eaten the muffin that went with it!
Happy Mother’s Day to all of you!!

Not only is today Mother's Day, but it is also Trixie's 8th birthday!!!

Here is my birthday poem for Trixie:

There once was a Trixie the Pug,
She had a wrinkled yet adorable mug,
She liked to take naps
And sit on warm laps
But had feet that you never must tug!

OK, I'm no Shel Silverstein, but I love my Trixie and I hope you enjoyed my poem. Happy Birthday Trix!! I can't wait to take you and Emmet for your birthday custards!!!!

We would like to extend a huge congratulations to our good friends Drew and Heidi. Their new little boy, Jonas Stewart, decided to make his appearance the day before Mother's Day so he could wish his new mommy a "Happy Mother's Day" in person. He weighed just under 8 pounds and is absolutely adorable! I'm so excited to have another little boy to boss around - I mean, play with and teach new things!!

Supermodel

Last Friday was the best day!! Auntie Tara came to visit me while she was in town. I had so much fun playing with her!

As always, Auntie Tara brought her camera. In my opinion, she is the Annie Leibowitz of Lancaster County. Since Annie Leibowitz is a celebrity photographer, Auntie Tara had to take photos of Lancaster's most famous celebrity - me!!

Who needs an electric fan to create a wind blown look? Lancaster provides plenty of natural wind to blow my beautiful blonde locks.

I call this my "I'm so cute but don't know it" pose.

Please, no more photos. I'm a very private, modest girl.

For action shots, I decided to show off my swinging skills. It may look easy, but it takes a special model to smile and swing at the same time!

Look at how much concentration it takes to pose while on a moving swing. Do not attempt this at home!!

I'm spinning so fast that I just might hurl, but I keep the smile on my face for the camera. That's called professionalism, folks.

Even my squinty-eyes look is cover shot worthy.

Luckily at my age it is very easy to keep a trim figure. During my photo session break I usually enjoy a Nilla Cakester. I have to keep up my energy!

See - no Cakester belly here!! Where's my bikini?

Auntie Tara, being a model is exhausting. Can we take a longer break?!?

Seriously. I'm beat. Don't make me go all Naomi Campbell on you.

Aaah, this is better. Relaxing on the couch, sporting my Maverick sunglasses. Someone pass me another Cakester.

BLOG NOTE: This might be the last post for a little while. Mommy dropped her camera and broke the flash, so unless she can get some outside photos of me in the sun, she won't be able to take pictures until she gets a new camera. Please bear with us!!
